What is ANKI?
ANKI: It is a program that aids in memorization and review using the spaced repetition method.
Spaced repetition method: It is a scientifically proven method for scheduling reviews based on the difficulty of each piece of information individually, aiming to save time and effort.
Anki presents information in the form of cards, each card having two sides: the program shows you the first side, usually a question or a keyword, and then tests you on remembering the second side. Based on your assessment of your answer, the program determines the appropriate date for the next review.
Answer evaluation options are as follows:
1. "Good": Means that the review period was appropriate, and you remembered the information without difficulty. The next review will be scheduled after a period exceeding the previous one by 250%. For example, if a card was scheduled for review after 10 days, and you marked it as "Good" during the review, the next review will be after 25 days (10 × 250% = 25 days).
2. "Easy": Indicates that the card is very easy, and the review period was shorter than necessary. The next scheduled review will be higher than the basic percentage by 50%. Using the previous example, 25 days + 50% = 38 days.
3. "Difficult": Means that the card was difficult and needs a shorter review period. Therefore, there will be no increase in the next period; instead, it will decrease to 75% of the previous period. Using the same example, the next review period for the card after the initial 10 days would be reduced to 7 days (75% × 10 = 7 days).
4. "Again": Indicates that you completely forgot the card. The program resets it to the initial stages of repetition, treating it as if it were a new card. You can adjust the card's period to half, quarter, or tenth, for example, and it doesn't necessarily have to return to zero.
